Personal Notes

Hilary is a busy mommy of two girls. She has a passion for creating resources and sharing them with other educators. Her B.A. is in Communication Studies with an emphasis in radio, television, and film. A mission trip convinced her that she wanted to be a teacher.  Hilary realized she had never felt more happy and at peace than when she was standing there in 126 degree weather with kids hanging all over her. She just knew she had to work with children so she pursued her Masters of Education in Instructional Leadership.

Hilary has 9 brothers and sisters and loves her huge family. Her passion is traveling. Some of the countries she’s been to include Jamaica, Canada, Guatemala, England, France, Kenya, and Honduras. She has many more countries on her bucket list. Speaking of her dad, he is Canadian, which makes her half Canadian. You would never know that from her strong Southern accent!

My kids lost it when I told them I met Jack Hartmann!🤩I know every teacher recognizes Greg too!❤️🥰Behind the scenes: This is the perfect example of how social media doesn’t show the whole picture. My friend @themulticulturalclassroom and I had a horrible case of food poisoning. We were both extremely sick through the night and minutes before this was taken. I was totally bummed to miss Jack’s keynote.I presented 2 sessions that day but couldn’t eat or drink a thing the entire day. We hid a trash can in the back of the room and I told the teachers to PLEASE start talking if they saw me run back to it or it could have made for an incredibly awkward moment! Can you imagine? Luckily @pocketofpreschool and @littlekinderwarriors hooked me up with some anti-nausea meds and I made it through the day! I was flipping through pics from the ILASCD conference and thought how I never told you this backstory and how many sweet friends I have who came to my rescue that day! ... See MoreSee Less
